This is the fil report of the Twenty-sixth Session of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC), held in Beijing, PR Chi from 24-30 September, 1998. Major topics discussed were : fish utilization in the Asia-Pacific region; current issues on capture fisheries in Asia and the Pacific; issues related to the development of sustaible aquaculture; achievement of APFIC and its future direction; merger of the BOBC and APFIC; the restructuring of APFIC subsidiary bodies and regiol fishery cooperative projects.
