dc.descriptionThis assignment, conducted from 23 June to 31 August 1975, was designed to initiate cage culture research at the Fish Culture Research Institute (FCRI), Szarvas, Hungary. Previous work on cage culture was studied and evaluated and a new research programme was begun using thirteen cages designed and built at FCRI. Other areas of Hungary were visited as possible cage culture sites including the hatchery of Szazhalombatta. Daily consultations were conducted with the two local staff members assi gned to the cage culture project. Lectures illustrated with slides were presented to the staff. A review paper on cage culture was written and translated into Hungarian for a national fisheries magazine. Recommendations were made for future research and education.
