Descripción
The development of Tanzania’s palm oil value chain is a government priority, aimed at improving livelihoods for approximately 30,000 smallholder farmers while reducing dependence on costly palm oil imports. Identified as a priority commodity under ASDP‑II, the sector has been analysed through a value‑chain diagnostic led by ASTA in collaboration with national ministries, resulting in a widely endorsed upgrading strategy for 2021–2025 to strengthen competitiveness and sector performance.
