dc.descriptionStrategies adopted by weed researchers center on two aspects; cultural methods and chemical use. Cultural methods are intended to reduce weed competition through multiple and intercropping and high plant populations while herbicides reduce weed competition through the direct elimination of weeds. Weed control practices that use a combination of both methods may prove to be the most efficient in the control of annual and perennial weeds in Uganda. (AS)
dc.descriptionLas estrategias que han adoptado los investigadores en malezas se centran en 2 aspectos: metodos culturales y uso de productos quimicos. Los metodos culturales pretenden reducir la competencia de malezas mediante cultivos multiples y asociados y altas poblaciones de plantas, mientras que los herbicidas reducen la competencia de malezas mediante la eliminacion directa de las mismas. Las practicas de control de malezas que combinan ambos metodos parecen ser las mas eficientes para el control de malezas anuales y perennes en Uganda. (RA-CIAT)
