As an important UN agency, FAO is serious in embarking on the implementation of the UN reform including active participation in the UN coordination and collaboration mechanisms at HQ levels and the regional level. PSU has created a new unit, PSUU - UN collaboration, whose objective is to interface with the UN Sustainable Development Group and to strengthen UN collaboration at HQ, Regional, and country levels. One area of PSUU work is with the RBAs (Rome Based Agencies): FAO, IFAD, and WFP. FAO and IFAD are specialized UN agencies funded by their own respective Member States who form their governing bodies. WFP is the operational arm of the United Nations system for the provision of food assistance and a member of the United Nations Development Group with its own Executive Board of Member States.
