Descripción
Achieving the first two Sustainable Development Goals in Sierra Leone, the eradication of poverty and hunger by 2030, requires an additional USD 1.1 billion annual investment. Of that, more than 62 percent should target agriculture and rural development. It is important to stress that not only more investments are required, but better investments. Responsible investments in agriculture and food systems contribute to sustainable development, enhance food security and nutrition and respect human rights.
FAO empowers key stakeholders in Sierra Leone to create an enabling environment for responsible investment in agriculture and food systems. This brochure presents the main interventions for key stakeholders: learning programmes for policy makers and technical government staff; capacity development events for civil society and producer organizations; and multi-stakeholder policy dialogue events.
