dc.descriptionThe significant expansion of irrigation in Aragon along the twentieth century is one of the main explanations to the current socio-economic reality of rural areas in this region. In this process, the implementation of large hydraulic systems and irrigation schemes, despite unfinished, were very important and they have acquired a great importance in agriculture and rural areas in Aragon. Considering changes of this moment to that in which were programmed, this article analyzes its regulation and some of its weaknesses and tries to assess what needs still have to be done, considering uncertainties and opportunities of their future.
