The Government of Lao People’s Democratic Republic has committed to tackling food insecurity and severe levels of undernutrition in the country in a number of ways, including through the implementation of diversified and nutrition-sensitive home food production systems. However, these production systems had not been established in a systematic way as yet, and their potential for learning had not been fully explored in the country. Against this background, the project aimed to develop a practical, sustainable and replicable model for nutrition-sensitive home food production, to improve family members’ nutritional status in the villages of Nam Far, Nam Mang and Nam Seua in Luang Namtha Province.
