In 2005, IICA increased circulation of the findings of its studies on the true value of agriculture and rural life demonstrating that both these areas area strategically important for integrated national development. This conclusion was endorsed by the Heads of State and of Gobernment at the Fourth Summit of the Americas, held in Mar del lata, Argentina, and by the hemisphere's Ministers of Agriculture at the Third Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture and Rural Life in the Americas, held in Guayaquil, Ecuador
