From Fields to Markets – Scaling Farmers into Agribusiness, presents FAO’s stepwise approach to transform smallholder farmers from subsistence production to sustainable agribusiness. It highlights key stages—training, business planning, microgrants, and market linkages—showing how farmers are empowered to increase productivity, add value, and access markets. Through partnerships with the Government of Mozambique and the European Union, the programme supports inclusive value chains, strengthens rural resilience, and promotes gender equality. Case studies in horticulture and poultry illustrate how small grants and training generate tangible income and opportunities for rural communities, contributing directly to national food security and the SDGs.
