The report Empowering small-scale farmers through digital innovation: Insights from the Near East and North Africa region examines how digital technologies can support productivity, resilience and inclusion among small-scale farmers across the Near East and North Africa. It highlights the critical role of smallholders in regional food systems, while outlining the structural challenges they face, including climate stress, water scarcity, limited market access, and digital divides.Based on desk research and updated field insights, the report maps and analyses a wide range of digital solutions relevant to small-scale producers, covering four main categories: education and advisory services, supply chain and market connectivity, financial solutions, and farm management and smart farming tools. It assesses their maturity, accessibility, and suitability to local contexts, emphasizing that technology effectiveness depends not only on innovation, but also on affordability, infrastructure, digital literacy, and social acceptance.The report further identifies key success factors and barriers to scaling digital agriculture in the region, including connectivity gaps, limited digital skills, regulatory constraints, and sustainability of business models. It concludes that inclusive digital transformation requires context-specific design, strong institutional support, capacity building, and policies that enable equitable access, particularly for rural communities and women
