This report outlines the essential information and updates on the distribution of FMD for the month of April 2019. The main conclusions in the reports say key drivers of FMD appear to include buffalo cattle contacts precipitating primary outbreaks, with shared grazing, shared watering, and illegal livestock movements being responsible for secondary spread from infected livestock to susceptible livestock. This is more common in the traditional rural areas that lack farm perimeter fencing.
