The training was for KFSSG key decision-makers and potential spokespeople charged with issuing information to mainstream media, for technical members who deal with the food security data and information, and for government representatives who deal with the media as part of their responsibility. Members of the media were also invited as it was recognized that they can play a key role in preventing famine by ensuring that the information on food security generated on a monthly basis by t he Kenya KFSSG is communicated to the public in a balanced manner. Altogether, the workshop brought together 17 participants drawn from members of the KFSSG and the government.
