| dc.description | The content of the article consists of the following issues: essence, scope and functions of strategic planning at regional and local scale, characteristic of the Regional Development Strategy of the Mazovia Province until 2030 and also appraisal of preparation this strategy and strategic goals. The aim of the article was to show that regional and local development strategies can be a tool of development and population activities. The observations confirm this relationship, especially with regard to the preparation of the strategy. However, in the process of implementation of the strategy is not full compliance in this regard. Therefore, it would be paying more attention to the tools of the strategy and adapting it to opportunities and financial resource of the area.
