Resumen
Descripción
Due to poor on-farm ripening, storage and transport practices, the agriculture sector has suffered from high rates of post-harvestlosses of fruit and vegetables. Additionally, because of an increasedreliance on imported foods, poor food and beverage consumptionhabits have developed and led to one of the highest rates ofobesity and non-communicable diseases in the world. This projectwas implemented to develop the sustainable capacity to analyseagriculture-sector trends in order to inform and improveevidence-based policy planning and formulation. These capacitiesare critical to improving food-security policies and reducing foodand nutritional insecurity.
