dc.descriptionBanana production in Palestine faces multiple constraints, including increasing salinity of irrigation water, rising input costs, and heavy dependence on limited freshwater resources. Banana cultivation profitability has fallen to around 35 percent, and domestic produce meets only 6 percent of national consumption. Large areas of suitable land and available treated wastewater remain underutilized, highlighting an urgent need for innovative, climate-smart production models that can rapidly enhance productivity, resource efficiency, and farmers’ income.
