Thia paper contains the designs of high opening bottom trawls which could be suitable for 50-180 hp small-scale fishing trawlers operating in coastal waters and.large lakes. All neoessaey infomation for the oonstruction of these trawlm as well as for the preparation and adjustment of their rigging is supplied.
Thie information is especially intended for small-scale fisheries skippers, and skipper owners, and fishing net makers. Fishery officers, technicians, instructors, extension workers, especially in developing countries, are also likely to be interested.
The trawls presented in this document were chosen becuase of being simple to construct, easy to use and for adjustment and with proven efficiency in commerical fishery.
