Prices of rice has not declined significantly in Mozambique since its initial surge in 2008, and show no sign of retreating according to the price monitoring tool. Domestic real prices fell 2% below the four-year average in September. Domestic rice prices respond positively to upswings in world prices, but do not follow them in downswings. Benchmark prices are expected to be 27730, 27090 and 27145 metical/ton in March, April and May respectively
