In this work a multicriterial evaluation system to select the best alternative for swine waste treatment considering the social,
economic and environmental conditions of Brazilian Federal District is presented. The environmental impacts were established and
quantified through Rapid Impact Assessment Matrix (RIAM) and aggregated through Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The
results show that the combination of RIAM and AHP methods in a single environmental impact assessment system is a useful tool
in integrating the objectives of environmental quality improvement on decision making process.
