The Tanzania Agricultural Sector Development Programme Phase Two (ASDPII) was established to accelerate the nation's economic growth by driving prioritized interventions aligned with the Tanzania Development Vision 2025 (TDV 2025). ASDPII serves as a strategic framework that integrates various national plans, including the Long-Term Perspective Plan (LTPP 2012-2025/26), the Five-Year Development Plan Phase Two (FYDP II 2011-2021), the Tanzania Agriculture and Food Security Investment Plan 2011-2021 (TAFSIP), and the Agricultural Sector Development Strategy Phase II (ASDS II). With a ten-year implementation period, ASDPII aims to transform the agricultural sector—encompassing crops, livestock, and fisheries—by enhancing productivity, promoting commercialization, and increasing smallholder farmers' incomes to improve their livelihoods and ensure food and nutrition security.
