dc.descriptionThanks to its Field Programme comprising a set of projects implemented by FAO in the region, FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (FAORLC) provides technical assistance to the countries of the region that are engaged in the fight against hunger.The FAO Regional Office supports projects in the areas of food and nutritional security as well as promotion of family farming, providing guidance on issues including animal and plant health and food safety. This mission is undertaken t hanks to the support of the FAO Regional Office for the Hunger-Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative (HFLACI), which concentrates the efforts of countries that are urgently committed to assist the most vulnerable populations of the region to overcome hunger and reduce poverty.
