dc.descriptionThis document presents the final report of the seventy-second session of the Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission convened in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 23 to 25 September 2009. Major topics discussed were: ways to improve APFIC's effectiveness for member countries; issues of significance to the region that have emerged in regional and international fora over the past biennium; outcomes of the workshops on i) practical implementation of the ecosystem approach to fisherie s and aquaculture in the region and ii) improving the resilience and reducing the vulnerability of livelihoods in small-scale fisheries; and preparations for the third regional consultative forum meeting and the thirty-first session of APFIC to be held in September 2010. A summary of the main recommendations and decisions are included in the session report.
