Descripción
Food and agriculture is critical to achieving most of the SDGs and the Paris Agreement, and national decision-makers are gradually starting to recognize its crucial and central role. This is a welcome development, given the increasingly urgent need to transform agriculture and food systems to make them sustainable, both to boost productivity and address environmental and social issues in an integrated, cross-sectoral way. Considerably more resources are needed to meet country demands for FAO support in mainstreaming food and agriculture in SDG implementation. Requests for assistance include formulating better and more coherent policies, attracting investment to sustainable agriculture and food systems, and fostering partnerships to drive action at all levels.
