| dc.description | This database provides nutrient values for fish, crustaceans and molluscs in raw and processed form, covering data on proximates, minerals, vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids. The majority of data are analytical data complemented by data from other published sources. The data compilation process followed standards and guidelines outlined by FAO/INFOODS, and foods are categorized according to an international classification system suggested by FAO. This first version provides complete nutrient data sets for commonly consumed species. Emphasize is put on nutrient variations due to production type, edible portion or fishing area which permits more precise nutrient intake estimations. A user-friendly format alongside with a comprehensive documentation will allow users to utilize compositional data on fish and shellfish more easily in their work. | |
