This work is part of the Scaling for Impact initiative of the Consultative Group for International
Agricultural Research (CGIAR), which aims to transform food systems in Africa through an
approach that seeks to develop sustainable interventions in partnership with national actors.
This report presents the methodology and results of activities conducted with stakeholders in
the rice sector in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire. It was prepared under the direction of Pétanhangui
Arnaud Yeo (Gender Specialist and Anthropologist, AfricaRice, Côte d’Ivoire), Kouassi
Kouadio Edouard (Sociologist, Centre for Research and Development, Alassane Ouattara
University), Aminou Arouna (PII Lead, AfricaRice, Côte d’Ivoire), Sali Atanga Ndindeng
(Scaling for Impact Lead, AfricaRice, Côte d’Ivoire), and Gaudiose Mujawamariya (Gender
Lead, AfricaRice Madagascar).
We thank the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Bouaké and the Centre for Research and
Development for facilitating this capacity-building workshop on agricultural entrepreneurship.
