Descripción
The Republic of Moldova is a small-sized country located in the South-Eastern part of Europe, with a temperate continental climate and highly productive black soils. Agricultural activities cover more than 75 percent of the country and land fragmentation is one of the major constraints for the implementation of sustainable and climate smart agricultural practices. Drought and soil loss due to extensive landslides, wind erosion and degradation of fertility threaten soil productivity, as well as agricultural economy and the livelihood of the rural population in the Republic of Moldova. Water resources for agriculture are scarce, and irrigation infrastructure is scarce among small-scale farmers.
