Resumen
Descripción
By 2025, Honduras scaled a digital coffee traceability system beyond its initial pilot, supporting European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)-related compliance and securing first-mile traceability. Using encrypted geographic identifiers (GeoIDs), QR codes and NFC (Near Field Communication) (QR/NFC)-enabled Producer ID cards, and the TraceFoodChain platform, the system improved transaction validation while protecting farmer data privacy. Voluntary adoption by cooperatives and private buyers
expanded the system across the sector.
