Descripción
Monitoring of agricultural production and productivity is expected to enhance food security as well as provide various livelihood opportunities to the farming community. The project will therefore directly contribute to the Government of Afghanistan’s (GOA) Poverty Reduction Strategy, and will also contribute to the MAIL’s ongoing key priority areas outlined in its policies, strategies and master plans. Ultimately, it will help increase peace and stability in Afghanistan through food security a t different levels. The establishment of the NAEZ and LRIMS, and the development and improvement of the agriculture monitoring system based on geospatial technology in Afghanistan will be the enabler to support the progress of the techniques, policy and investment conditions to achieve sustainable agricultural development for food security in the context of climate change.
