Safe animal feed is critical to the security and sustainability of food chains around the world. In some areas, actors on the feed supply chain lack the necessary capacities and knowledge to produce safe, uncontaminated feed. This project was formulated to address this issue by building the capacities of feed chain operators globally, through the establishment of the Feed Safety Multi-Stakeholder Partnership. Established in April 2016, the partnership brought together representatives from governmental and intergovernmental organizations, the public and private sectors, feed regulators and the feed industry sector, as well as members of civil society and academia. All of these stakeholders participated actively in the partnership, both online and at faceto-face meetings, which led to the formation of alliances and associations. Thanks to the engagement that the project facilitated, small- and mediumscale producers from low- and middle-income countries were also able to collaborate with the large network of members.
