This paper shows two subjects of the research hypothesis carried out in the county of Uruará, Pará state, located at the Transamazônica highway. The first subject is the effect of soil factors on the pasture sustainability. These factors are soil slope, soil water, soil nutrients and previous land use. The second subject is the effect of the high grazing pressure on the soil and the pasture availability.
