This alert highlights the heightened risk of avian influenza spread in Asia ahead of Lunar New Year due to increased poultry trade, movements and market activity. It summarizes current virus circulation, recent losses, zoonotic events, and provides key recommendations for enhanced surveillance, biosecurity, early detection, rapid reporting, and coordinated One Health actions to support preparedness and mitigate regional spread.
