dc.descriptionEl estudio se realizó en plantaciones jóvenes de teca con edades entre 2,6 y 7 años, ubicadas en las regiones forestales II (Las Verapaces), III (Nororiente), VIII (Petén) y IX (Costa Sur) de Guatemala. En total se evaluaron 113 parcelas permanentes de monitoreo en los departamentos de El Petén, Alta Verapaz, Izabal, Zacapa, Suchitepéquez, Retalhuleu y Escuintla. Las parcelas se clasificaron en cuatro clases de sitio (bajo, medio, alto y excelente) según el índice de sitio a una edad base de 10 años y la productividad, medida como incremento medio anual del volumen total. Se obtuvieron relaciones importantes entre variables de crecimiento y productividad. The study was conducted in young teak plantations between 2.6 and 7 years old in the forest regions II (Las Verapaces), III (Northeast), VIII (Petén) and IX (Southern Coast), Guatemala. A total amount of 113 permanent monitoring plots were evaluated in the following departments: El Petén, Alta Verapaz, Izabal, Zacapa, Suchitepéquez, Retalhuleu and Escuintla. Four site classes were determined (low, medium, high and excellent) based on existing site index for 10 year-old teak and productivity expressed in mean annual increment in volume. Important relationships between growth and productivity variables were obtained.
