Resumen

Descripción

A random utility model framework was used to estimate the probability that a farmer chooses one of three mutually exclusive manure handling systems (daily haul, short term, and long-term storage) based on manure handling system attributes as well as individual farmer/farm characteristics. Results demonstrate that costs of manure handling systems, as well as compliance with environmental programs, play the largest role in determining the decisions made by producers and should be considered when designing these programs in the future.
