UMA ANALISE ECONOMETRICA DAS OFERTAS DE ACUCAR E ALCOOL PARANAENSES

dc.descriptionEste trabalho analisa as ofertas de açúcar e de álcool paranaenses, a partir de uma modelagem econométrica. Como corolário, a quantidade ofertada de açúcar varia inversamente ao preço do álcool, assim como a quantidade ofertada de álcool varia inversamente ao preço do açúcar, mas este último foi não significativo estatisticamente. Outrossim, considerando apenas os resultados significativos, uma variação de 1% no preço médio do açúcar gera uma variação positiva de 1,2% na quantidade ofertada deste produto, e se o preço médio do álcool se eleva em 1% a quantidade ofertada de açúcar sofre uma queda de 2,0%. Um aumento de 1% no preço médio da cana-de-açúcar gera um acréscimo menos que proporcional na oferta do açúcar (0,79%). Diante de tais resultados, pode-se dizer que o dinamismo da agroindústria canavieira do Paraná tem sido dado, mormente, pela oferta de açúcar, sendo a oferta de álcool mais residual (comparativamente à produção de açúcar). ------------------------ This article analyses the sugar and alcohol supplies in Paraná State, using an econometric model. As result, the supplied amount of sugar varies inversely to the price of the alcohol, as well as the supplied amount of alcohol varies inversely to the price of the sugar, but this last one was not statistically significant. Therefore, just considering the significant results, a variation of 1% in the medium price of the sugar generates a positive variation of 1,2% in the supplied amount of this product, and if the medium price of the alcohol rises in 1% the supplied amount of sugar decreases 2,0%. An increase of 1% in the medium price of the sugar-cane generates an increment in the supply of the sugar of 0,79% (less than proportional). With these results, it is possible to conclude that the dynamism of the sugar2 cane industry in Paraná State is due, mainly, to the sugar supply, being the alcohol supply more residual (comparatively to the production of sugar).
