Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) is a collective right that belongs to any member of a community. This means that communities have the right to make decisions through their own freely chosen representatives, customary institutions or other institutions such as local authorities and elected officials. This handbook can be used for training or awareness-raising workshops on free, prior and informed consent.
