In support of FAO's main mandate to achieve food security, FAO's Forestry Department works with sustainable wildlife management, including human-wildlife conflicts, management of wild meat (bushmeat) and sustainable hunting practices. So far, work on protected areas has been conducted in the context of sustainable wildlife management in some regions.
To inform priority setting and work planning for the next biennium (2018-19), FAO is conducting a survey with other international and partner organizations, and internally with FAO staff, to take stock of past work and assesses the needs for future work. This is the survey questionnaire released on July 2017
