dc.descriptionThe FAO Expert Workshop on Sustainable Use and Management of Artemia Resources in Asia was held in Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin, China, 6–9 November 2016. Over 40 delegates from different countries representing related disciplines of Artemia from research and academic institutions, development organizations, private sectors, ministries and FAO participated in this important event. Based on the workshop presentations and discussion, main conclusions and recommendations of the workshop were prepared during the Discussion and Roundup Session and the proposed actions were agreed. The workshop unanimously agreed that an urgent initiative to establish the Asian Regional Artemia Reference Centre (AR-ARC) be undertaken in Tianjin University of Science and Technology in close collaboration with all the concerned stakeholders within and outside the country to promote the sustainable use and improved management of the Artemia resources in the region.
