Full utilization of Georgia’s agricultural potential is vitally important for the country’s economy. Agricultural development offers investment opportunities and is essential for the development of the country as a whole, and particularly for employment, growth, poverty reduction and food security. Against this background, the project aimed to support the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) to achieve targets defined in the Georgian Strategy for Agricultural Development of improved food security and higher competitiveness, effectiveness and sustainability of the country’s agriculture. The project complemented the FAO technical assistance project funded by the European Commission, “Capacity Development of the Ministry of Agriculture”.
