Resumen

Descripción

The project contributed to improving the food security and livelihoods of displaced and host communities in northern Armenia by facilitating access to unused agricultural land and enabling refugee households to re-engage in farming activities. By supporting refugees to secure land through lease agreements, the intervention addressed a key barrier to restoring agricultural livelihoods following displacement from Nagorno-Karabakh. In doing so, it contributed to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 and 2.The project also promoted social cohesion and local economic development by facilitating cooperation between refugee households, landowners and local authorities. By bringing previously unused land back into cultivation and supporting displaced farmers to participate in local agricultural systems, the project contributed to increased agricultural production and more resilient rural livelihoods.
