El presente documento está organizado en tres secciones. La primera aborda los hechos estructurales que subyacen en la evolución, las tendencias recientes y las perspectivas del sector agrícola en sus cuatro grandes subsectores: agricultura, ganadería, bosques y pesca/acuicultura, con énfasis en recomendaciones de política. La segunda sección aborda, de la misma manera, el bienestar rural y la institucionalidad agrícola y rural. La tercera sección está destinada a un tema de coyuntura, de especial relevancia para la toma de decisiones en el sector, que en esta oportunidad es la volatilidad de los precios, sus causas y las incertidumbres futuras.
This book is divided into three sections. The first one covers structural factors underlying the evolution, recent trends, and outlook of the agricultural sector and its four main subsectors: agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing and aquaculture, with an emphasis on policy recommendations. The second section takes the same approach to addressing rural well-being and agricultural and rural institutions. The third section is devoted to the current economic situation—namely, price volatility, and its causes and future uncertainties—which is particularly relevant for decision-makers in the sector
