The aim of the study was to assess the level of education as an important contributor to the quality of
human capital in the rural areas of Mazovia region. The article analyzes secondary sources from the Central
Statistical Office (GUS) and the National Census of Population and Housing, the own research conducted
using the sample of 1,000 households in the selected rural and urban communes of the Mazovia Province
and the literature. The level of education is varied, depending on the place of residence or sex. Attention
was also drawn to the relationship between the source of income and education.
