The complex nature of Capacity Development (CD) poses many challenges for those involved in programming interventions in countries and regions. This module is intended to support the design and implementation of strategic and participatory approaches to capacity development in the area of FAO’s mandate. It should help FAO staff and collaborators to assess existing capacities, identify capacity gaps, set priorities and objectives for interventions addressing capacity aspects, and embed sustai nability considerations from the outset of a project or programme.
