dc.descriptionmeanfly (Ophiomyia spp.) incidence was investigated at the farm field level to determine losses at successive plant ages over varying altitudes in the Kabale District of Uganda. A higher beanfly population was found at the 1,860-2,110 m altitude range than at both lower and higher ranges. Both beanfly species were found, but the dominant species was O. spencerella. Future research will analyze for crop loss due to beanfly damage and sampling dates will be increased to determine the onset of beanfly infestation. (AS)
dc.descriptionSe investigo la incidencia de Ophiomyia spp. a nivel de fincas para determinar las perdidas en las distintas edades de la planta a diferentes alt. en el distrito de Kabale, Uganda. Se encontro una mayor poblacion de mosca del frijol en el rango de alt. entre 1860 y 2110 m que en los rangos inferiores o superiores. Se registraron amboas especies de mosca del frijol; sin embargo, O. spencerella fue la dominante. En investigaciones futuras se analizaran las perdidas del cultivo ocasionadas por danos de la mosca del frijol y se incrementaran las fechas de muestreo para determinar el comienzo de la infestacion.
