The IPPC Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC) is a new subsidiary body of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) created by the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM), the governing body of the IPPC, at its twelfth session in 2017. The establishment of the IC is a milestone in the history of the IPPC. It reflects the shifting emphasis from developing and adopting International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs) toward implementation of the IPPC and ISPMs and capacity development of contracting parties. This publication is meant to be a reference to introduce contracting parties, IPPC partners and donors to the IC members and experts in each region of the world, raise awareness of the goal and objectives of the IC and encourage liaison with them in order to contribute to or enhance the aims of the IC and the IPPC.
