Descripción
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) 1 000 Digital Village Initiative (DVI) aims to support holistic digital rural transformation as a means to address key challenges in agriculture and food production, and to improve livelihoods in rural communities. The adoption of digital technologies is increasingly recognized as a catalyst for transformative processes that promote rural development. Benefits include improved access to services, enhanced farm management and decision making, increased efficiency, higher agricultural productivity and greater profitability. Digital solutions can also facilitate market access, improve risk and uncertainty management, enable easier access to finance and advisory services, and support literacy and knowledge acquisition.
