Se identificaron cinco tipos de fincas cafetaleras en la Reserva Natural Miraflor-Moropotente en Estelí, Nicaragua, las cuales forman un gradiente entre cafetales más diversos, bajo dosel de bosque raleado, y cafetales poco diversos. con alta densidad de musáceas y baja riqueza de especies. Las tipologías ayudan a conciliar los intereses de conservación de biodiversidad y de producción cafetalera en la Reserva, mediante la manipulación cuidadosa de la abundancia, composición florística y estructuración vertical de los doseles de sombra según el tipo de cafetal. Estos cafetales ofrecen el mayor potencial de conservación de biodiversidad de todos los agroecosistemas de la Reserva. Five types of coffee farms were identified in the Nature Reserve Miraflor-Moropotente in Esteli, Nicaragua. These form a gradient from the most diverse, under thinned forest canopies, to least diverse, which have a high density of Musacea and low species richness. These typologies help conciliate the interests of biodiversity conservation and coffee production in the Reserve, through the careful manipulation of the abundance, floristic composition and vertical structure of the shade canopies, according to the type of plantation. These coffee plantations offer the highest potential for biodiversity conservation of all the agrosystems in the Reserve.
