The primary purpose of this manual is to provide a guide for training fishermen on board fishery training vessels of 100 to 200 GT (except engine-room personnel). It is based on the experience of an FAO expert serving as a masterfisherman instructor on a fishery training project. It is assumed that most of the information provided in the manual is relevant to any fishery training on board a training vessel. Much of the information may also be of assistance in arranging individual training on boa rd commercial fishing vessels.
