The ESMP for the “RELIVE – Resilient Livelihoods of Vulnerable Small Farmers in the Mayan Landscapes and the Dry Corridor of Guatemala” outlines the environmental and social safeguards guiding project implementation. Supported by the Green Climate Fund and led by FAO, the project promotes climate-resilient agriculture, gender equality, and Indigenous Peoples’ participation. The ESMP identifies potential risks, proposes mitigation measures, and integrates specialized plans such as the Indigenous Peoples Plan, Gender Action Plan, and Biodiversity Management Plan. Developed through a participatory process, the ESMP ensures inclusive, sustainable development and improved livelihoods for rural communities.
