| dc.description | Approximately 30% of foodborne illnesses globally are caused by parasitic infections. FAO is seeking to provide updated scientific advice on the detection, prevention, inactivation, and other methods of control of foodborne parasitic hazards that present a public health risk. To achieve this goal, FAO has planned a series of expert consultations on the topic. The first meeting, to focus on protozoal foodborne parasites, is scheduled for 26-30 May, 2025. The second meeting which will address cestodes, nematodes and trematodes will be held at a later time, possible in the fourth quarter of 2025. | |
