The aim of the research was to present the possibility of using straw crops for energy purposes in the Łasin
community. The structure of crops and livestock state in the community was analysed. The potential amout
of straw was reduced for use in agriculture and animal production (feed and bedding) and was determined
the balance of organic matter. The calculations lead to the conclusion that the use of energy purposes in the
community Łasin remains average 15 053 ths Mg of straw, which is equivalent about 218 264 GJ of energy
(about 8731 tons of coal).
